We are one of the UK’s leading asbestos removal and surveying companies, offering a national service via a network of strategically located offices and field-based operational teams. We provide apposite coverage and large company resources at a local level, whilst maintaining competitive prices, rapid turnaround times for works undertaken and a high level of customer satisfaction.

We operate throughout all sectors of UK industry.

Coming from both the construction industry and engineering management background, our Management Team has a vast knowledge of the structure and design of buildings. Our operatives undergo rigorous training in asbestos removal techniques and Health & Safety requirements, enabling the company to successfully manage the most demanding asbestos removal contracts and operate to the highest specifications for the industry.

We have an unblemished Health and Safety record, having received zero improvement or prohibition notices in over 20 years of trading.

With a large staff base of employees, we are able to fully resource any asbestos-related project, having developed and implemented a number of processes that provide cost certainty, added value and compliance, whilst enriching community engagement, providing an all-inclusive environment that allows us to work closely with our client and their end users.

Asbestos Removal

All removal works are undertaken in full compliance with legislation, HSE Approved Codes of Practice and industry best practice. Given the potential harm caused by asbestos fibres, all removal works will be planned and managed thoroughly, so as to ensure that no-one is exposed to asbestos fibres. Apposite control measures will include a fully sealed enclosure, negative pressure units, dust suppression techniques, safe methodology of removal and use of decontamination units.

Any legislative changes that affect our working practices will be communicated by our Health, Safety and Compliance Manager to all employees. We will ensure that all employees receive the necessary training to ensure legislative compliance.

Because of the environmental compliance expected of us, and our own duty of care in assessing how waste produced as a result of our operations is consigned and disposed of, we operate our own Waste Transfer Station where we can accept both fibrous and bonded waste produced as a result of our operations. Because of this and from the standpoint of an environmentally conscious producer of hazardous waste, we can apply the high standards of Health and Safety intrinsic with all of our operations, ensuring that all hazardous waste is consigned, controlled and disposed of in a safe and compliant manner.

Asbestos Surveying

European Asbestos Services carry out Management and Refurbishment & Demolition surveys, ensuring that all surveying works are completed in full compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012; Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015. We use fully UKAS accreditation laboratory’s for asbestos inspections and bulk analysis of suspected asbestos-containing materials in full accordance with BSI ISO/IEC 17020 and 17025.

We can survey any site, from small buildings and social housing properties through to large office blocks and factories.

As with removal works, our surveying works also undergo regular auditing to ensure that all surveys undertaken meet legislative, client and our own high standards.

We maintain a structured training programme for our employees, to facilitate the meeting of requisite Health and Safety standards, whilst recognising the need for continual professional development in this highly regulated sector. This will enable our employees to perform their roles competently and with an appropriate level of safety management on site. All Surveyors will hold as a minimum the following qualifications:

P402 Certificate in Buildings Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos
Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards, and
PASMA
On completion of the survey, we will send you a full report on our findings. This will tell you what we have found, what that means and what you need to do next in order to comply with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

Fire Risk Assessment

Changes in fire safety legislation place the accountability for safety upon the person responsible for the premises. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO) requires that you carry out a fire risk assessment on your premises. From October 2006, fire certificates were no longer issued for non-domestic premises. The fire safety risk assessment effectively replaces this.

To ensure you comply with the law and have fulfilled your responsibilities, we can appoint an independent fire risk consultant to carry out your fire safety assessment. The fire risk assessment service includes:

Control of Silica Dust

What is it?
Silica is a natural substance and a major constituent of construction materials such as bricks, tiles, concrete and mortar. Dust is generated from these materials during many common construction tasks. These include cutting, drilling, grinding and polishing. Some of this dust is fine enough to get deep into your lungs. The fine dust is known as respirable crystalline silica (RCS) and is too fine to see with normal lighting. It is commonly called silica or silica dust.

What is the risk to construction workers?
Silica is the biggest risk to construction workers after asbestos.

Exposure to RCS over a long period can cause fibrosis (hardening or scarring) of the lung tissue with a consequent loss of lung function. Sufferers are likely to have severe shortness of breath and may find it difficult or impossible to walk even short distances or upstairs. The effect continues to develop after exposure has stopped and is irreversible. Sufferers usually become house- or bed-bound and often die prematurely due to heart failure. Acute silicosis is a rare complication of short-term exposure to very large amounts of silica. This condition is life-threatening and associated with very significant clinical consequences.

Silica may also be linked to lung cancer. Precautions taken to control the risk of fibrosis will serve to control the risk of lung cancer. Workers with silicosis are at an increased risk of tuberculosis, kidney disease and arthritis. Exposure to RCS may also cause chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Controlling the risks
In Britain, RCS exposure has a workplace exposure limit (WEL), which contains exposure below a set limit, preventing excessive exposure. The WEL for RCS is 0.1 mg/m3 expressed as an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA). Exposure to RCS is also subject to the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH).

Social Housing

We currently service a number of Framework Contracts within the Social Housing Sector, responding to over 12,000 individual requests for removal each year.

Further development is provided to our employees in Customer Relations, Effective Communicating, Conflict Resolution and Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults, through our in-house Training Academy, which will provide additional benefits to our clients as they have confidence in our well-trained, front-facing staff.
