European Asbestos Services were originally appointed as sole provider for asbestos removal services in 2015 and continued to provide a full service all the way through the covid-19 pandemic.
The contract was then competitively retendered in 2021 where EAS were again successful and have now been appointed until 2027.
The council manage approx. 14,000 residential homes and numerous corporate buildings throughout Essex.
Removal and remediation works have been carried to decent homes, planned, capital and responsive contracts within both occupied and void properties. The works undertaken typically involve the removal of notifiable licensed, notifiable non-licensed and non-licensed ACMs such as asbestos insulating board (AIB), cement panels and sheeting, flue pipes, rainwater goods, soffits and fascia’s, the removal of asbestos containing appliances, toilet cisterns, seats, floor tiles, profiled cement roof sheeting and textured coating to ceilings, walls. Reinstatement works have been carried out on occasion and have included replacing roof sheets, reinstating plasterboard ceilings for example. In addition to these works we also operate an emergency ‘out-of-hours’ call out services where we commit to being on site in the event of an emergency within 1 hour.
