EAS are currently undertaking asbestos removal work to various schools within Surrey and corporate buildings.

As part of contract service delivery EAS provide a 24hr emergency response helpline. This ensures Surrey County Council have the ability to respond to any asbestos emergency within the country including fly tipped waste on public footpaths/highways or any situation that may arise within schools or corporate buildings

Prior to each project we prepare a suitable and sufficient Risk Assessment for each project. The identified risks included:

  • Exposure to Asbestos
  • Slips, trips and falls
  • Use of power tools
  • Manual handling
  • Working at height
  • Noise

Apposite controls used included fully sealed enclosures around the affected work areas, negative pressure within the enclosures through the use of negative pressure units, dust suppression techniques to prevent accidental release of asbestos fibres and decontamination units.
